Bethlehem’s Flame of Peace Arrives in Wiesbaden for Annual Tradition

A flame lit in Bethlehem has arrived in Wiesbaden as part of an annual tradition. The Light of Peace was handed over to Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende on December 17, 2025, in the city hall foyer. Scouts from different groups carried the symbolic peace to the German city.

The Light of Peace begins its journey each year in the Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem. Scouts then transport it across borders, sharing its message of hope. Wiesbaden, like many other cities, takes part in this network by receiving and passing on the peace.

The Light of Peace now shines in Wiesbaden after being carried from Bethlehem. The city will pass it forward, keeping the tradition alive. The peace’s presence serves as a reminder of shared hope across different regions.
