Berlin's 2027 logistics hub transforms a brownfield into a green industrial powerhouse
A new logistics and industrial facility is taking shape in southern Berlin, set to open in 2027. The project, led by developers evolutiq and Urban Partners, will transform a former industrial site into a modern hub near Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). With no large-scale logistics projects currently planned in the airport's immediate vicinity, this development marks a key addition to the region's growing infrastructure. The facility will occupy a 20,500-square-metre brownfield site, offering around 12,500 square metres of adaptable space. Designed for single tenants or multiple users, it will provide logistics, industrial, and office areas. Its location near BER and the A10 motorway ring makes it a strategic choice for businesses.
Sustainability is a core focus, with plans for heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, and partially green roofs. Jan-Nicolai Tröndle, Manager of Business Development at evolutiq, highlighted the project's goal: to enhance the area's appeal and support the regional economy. Elsewhere, the SEGRO Park Berlin Airport continues expanding, adding new logistics and light industrial units. Meanwhile, the P3 Berlin Airport Park in Schönefeld is under construction, offering around 90,000 square metres of rental space by late 2026. These developments reflect a broader trend of logistics growth around BER.
The new facility will bring additional logistics capacity to southern Berlin by 2027. Its eco-friendly design and flexible spaces aim to attract businesses while supporting local economic growth. With no major competing projects nearby, it stands as a significant step in the region's infrastructure development.
