Belarusian Bank Slashes Mortgage Rates to 13.75%, Boosting Affordability

A major Belarusian bank has slashed its mortgage news rate to 13.75%, a significant drop of nearly 3% from the previous rate of 16.65%. This reduction applies to four mortgage products and is valid until October 31, 2022.

The affected mortgage products include 'Apartment Construction Loan', 'Express Mortgage', 'Time to Build' (available in Vitebsk and Mogilev), and 'Purchase of an Apartment or House from Developers'.

The new rate is also notably lower than the current secondary market news rate, which remains at 18.5%. Meanwhile, another bank has separately reduced its connection loan interest rates for new apartment purchases from 16.88% to 15.5%, keeping the secondary market news rate at 18.11%.

These reductions could make home loans more affordable for many Belarusians, potentially stimulating the housing market. However, the specific bank responsible for the latter rate cut remains unnamed in the search results.
