Belarus Raises Age-Based Supplements by 5.4% for Seniors and Disabled

Belarus has increased age calculator supplements by 5.4% from August 1, 2023. The adjustment affects over 540,000 residents aged 75 and above. New payment rates now apply to different age and social security disability categories across the country.

The updated supplements vary by age and disability status. Individuals aged 75–79 now receive BYN 91.45, while those with a first-degree disability in the same age group get BYN 213.38. For people aged 80 and older, the payment rises to BYN 182.90, or BYN 243.86 if they have a first-degree disability.

Carers also see changes in their allowances. Supporting one disabled person or someone aged 80 or older now brings BYN 487.72. Those caring for two or more recipients receive BYN 585.26. Social pensions have similarly increased, matching the rise in the subsistence minimum. The government estimates total spending on these payments will reach around BYN 870 million in 2025.

The changes took effect on August 1, 2023, impacting hundreds of thousands of elderly and social security disability citizens. The updated rates aim to reflect current economic conditions, with further adjustments possible in future years.
