Belarus Boosts Social Benefits, Pensions 0.7% from Nov 1, 2025
Belarus is set to raise its social security benefits, pensions, and supplementary payments from November 1, 2025, following an increase in the subsistence minimum budget (SMB). The average per capita SMB will rise by 0.7% to BYN 491.09.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has announced the new SMB thresholds. This quarterly recalculated indicator represents the minimum income required to cover basic needs for Belarusian citizens. Alongside this increase, various social security benefits and allowances will automatically rise.
Pension supplements for certain retirees, including those receiving pension for reduced earning capacity (Erwerbsminderungsrente), will see a 0.7% increase. From November 1, 2025, the broad-based additional pension supplements for all retirees will cease, replaced by targeted improvements for specific groups. Starting December 2025, a new calculation based on personal pension points will apply for these recipients. No changes are announced for other groups of pensioners at this date.
Family benefits for raising children will also increase by 0.7% in line with the SMB adjustment. This planned rise in social security benefits, pensions, and supplementary payments is part of Belarus' scheduled SMB adjustment.
