Thousands of House Calls Falsified? Doctor Soon in Court - Bavarian Doctor Faces Trial for Massive Fraud and Sexual Coercion Allegations
A doctor from Lower Bavaria will face trial in December on charges of large-scale fraud and sexual coercion. The case involves false billing for thousands of medical visits and allegations of misconduct towards a patient. Authorities have held the doctor in custody since March 2024 while investigations continued.
The accusations centre on billing fraud between 2021 and 2024. The doctor allegedly charged for over 600 telephone consultations as if they were in-person appointments. Additionally, more than 6,000 home visits were billed, yet many patients denied ever receiving them. The total financial damage is estimated at around €1.6 million.
The doctor remains in pretrial detention ahead of the December hearing. If convicted, they could face significant legal penalties for both fraud and sexual misconduct. The trial will examine evidence from billing records, patient statements, and the alleged incident in Nuremberg.
