Bamboo rocking chair stolen from balcony in rare Schlitz heist

A bamboo rocking chair and a multicoloured cushion have been stolen from a balcony in Schlitz. The theft took place on Seebergstraße between Thursday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. The police are now asking the public for help in finding the missing items.

The incident occurred between 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, and 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 14. The stolen items—a rocking chair and a matching cushion—were taken from an apartment balcony. Together, they are worth around €20.

While general theft statistics for the Vogelsbergkreis area show roughly 1,200 cases over the past year, no specific data exists for stolen household items. This makes the recent balcony theft in Schlitz a rare but notable event.

Anyone with information can contact Lauterbach Police Station at +49 6641 971-0. Reports can also be submitted online via the Hessian police portal at www.polizei.hessen.de.

The police are seeking witnesses or leads to recover the stolen chair and cushion. The low value of the items does not reduce the importance of the investigation. Residents in the area are encouraged to report any suspicious activity.
