Axe-wielding man detained near Darmstadt’s central train station

A 36-year-old man sparked a police operation in Darmstadt in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Witnesses alerted authorities after seeing him carrying an axe near the main train station at around 4 a.m. Officers moved quickly to locate and detain the individual.

The incident began when the man was spotted walking toward Darmstadt’s central train station with an axe. Police were called immediately and launched a search. They soon found and apprehended him, confiscating the weapon.
