Asheesh Pandey, Kalyan Kumar Appointed MDs & CEOs of Union, Central Banks
The government has appointed Asheesh Pandey and Kalyan Kumar as Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of Union Bank of India and Central Bank of India respectively. The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) recommended them for these posts, and the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, approved their appointments.
Asheesh Pandey, currently serving as Executive Director of Bank of Maharashtra, will lead Union Bank of India for a period of three years. His appointment follows the recommendation of the FSIB, which is headed by former Department of Personnel and Training Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma. The FSIB members also include Animesh Chauhan, Deepak Singhal, and Shailendra Bhandari, all experienced banking professionals.
Kalyan Kumar, the current Executive Director of Punjab National Bank, will succeed M V Rao at Central Bank of India after his superannuation in July. Like Pandey, Kumar's appointment is also for a period of three years.
Asheesh Pandey and Kalyan Kumar bring their extensive banking experience to their new roles. Their appointments are expected to strengthen the leadership and operations of Union Bank of India and Central Bank of India.
