Arthur J. Gallagher Expands Global Footprint with $13B+ Acquisitions in 2024–2025
Arthur J. Gallagher, a global insurance brokerage firm, has expanded its reach with a series of recent acquisitions. The company, based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, now operates in around 130 countries and has strengthened its presence in both the US and Latin America.
This month alone, Gallagher completed three key purchases: Agilis Partners, Dominick Falcone Agency, and W K Webster. These deals follow last year's acquisition of Case Group, a Brazilian employee benefits brokerage, which significantly boosted the firm's footprint in Latin America.
Earlier in December 2024, Gallagher agreed to buy AssuredPartners for approximately $13.45 billion. This move marked one of the firm's largest deals to date.
More recently, the company acquired Agilis Partners, a Waltham, Massachusetts-based consultancy specialising in investment and retirement plans. Agilis serves institutional clients from offices in greater Boston, New York, and Denver.
Gallagher also purchased two New York-based firms: Dominick Falcone Agency and W K Webster. Falcone focuses on property and casualty insurance, primarily serving clients in central New York. Meanwhile, W K Webster specialises in marine and transit claims management, working with insurers and self-insured corporations worldwide.
In 2023, Gallagher expanded into Brazil by acquiring Case Group, a employee and health benefits brokerage. Before this deal, Brazil contributed little to Gallagher's revenue—just a fraction of the 10% from international operations in 2022. The acquisition changed that, increasing Brazil's role in the company's Latin American growth. The Case Group team remains in its current location, led by Rafael Motta under Luiz Araripe.
CEO A J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., highlighted Case Group's expertise as a key factor in strengthening Gallagher's capabilities in Brazil. The move has helped balance the firm's revenue sources, which previously relied heavily on the US (over 70%) and Europe (15-20%).
With these acquisitions, Gallagher has broadened its service offerings across multiple regions. The firm now holds a stronger position in Brazil, the US, and global marine insurance markets. The expanded operations reflect Gallagher's strategy to diversify its business and deepen its international presence.
