On August 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM, an incident occurred at Gera's South Station that has since been under investigation by the Thuringian Police. Two unknown juveniles were reported to have caused disorder on a regional train from Gera to Saalfeld.

According to reports, one of the juveniles allegedly pointed a toy or airsoft pistol at the conductor, insulted her, and fired a shot. Remarkably, the conductor managed to remain uninjured, though she was hit in the leg. The weapon used in the incident is believed to be a toy or airsoft pistol, as yellow plastic pellets were found in the train.

The perpetrator is estimated to be around 16-18 years old, standing between 160-170 cm tall, with black, well-groomed hair, completely black clothing, and of southern or Arabic appearance. The police have initiated a corresponding investigation against the still unknown perpetrator.

Upon leaving the train, the juveniles could not be apprehended despite intensive search measures by both state and federal police in the city area.
