Amprion GmbH has reached an agreement with agricultural associations to compensate landowners and tenants affected by the construction of underground power cables for the energy transition. The deal covers three major energy corridors and could impact up to 20,000 people.
The agreement, which spans the Rhein-Main-Link, Corridor B, and Windader West corridors, aims to transport power for up to 20 million people. It includes provisions for tenants who may suffer economic disadvantages due to the construction work. Amprion conducted negotiations for these compensations across the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, and Bavaria.
Representatives from agricultural associations have welcomed the framework.
