Ambulance crashes into car - five injured - Ambulance crash at busy intersection leaves five injured after red-light collision
An ambulance rushing to hospital with lights and sirens on collided with a compact car at a busy intersection. The crash left five people injured, including the patient inside the emergency vehicle. Authorities confirmed the ambulance was travelling at high speed when the accident occurred.
The incident began when the ambulance driver ran a red light while transporting a patient. The force of the collision caused the emergency vehicle to flip and slam into a traffic light pole. The pole then broke off and struck a nearby truck.
All five individuals involved—including the 23-year-old driver of the compact car, the ambulance crew, and the patient—suffered minor injuries. Emergency services assessed the damage to the ambulance at around €300,000, declaring it a total loss.
The crash resulted in minor injuries for everyone involved, though no life-threatening conditions were reported. The ambulance, now beyond repair, will require replacement before the emergency service can resume full operations. Investigations into the cause of the collision are expected to follow.
