Altum’s new housing loan scheme draws 44 applications in days

A new housing loan programme launched by Altum on 29 October is already seeing strong interest. The initiative, which runs until 31 December 2025, offers loans of up to €74,000 to help buyers purchase property. The first approved loan, worth €21,000, has gone to a buyer in Bauska municipality.

Since the programme’s start, Altum has received 44 applications, with an average loan request of around €44,000. The amounts vary, ranging from €9,500 to the maximum €74,000. About a third of the applicants come from Vidzeme, while others are spread across Zemgale, Kurzeme, and Latgale.

Processing times depend on documentation. If all required papers and a property appraisal are submitted, Altum can assess an application in roughly two days. When an appraisal is needed, the decision takes about seven to 10 days. Meanwhile, the customer service portal mans.altum.lv is handling nearly 200 additional applications. Many potential borrowers are reaching out for guidance on the programme’s terms and how to apply. The total funding available under the scheme is up to €105 million.

The programme has made a quick start, with the first loan already approved. Further applications are being processed, and Altum continues to assist clients with their queries. The initiative aims to support homebuyers across Latvia until its scheduled end in late 2025.
