Almaty cracks down on car insurance fraud with insurers like Allstate and Progressive

Almaty police and insurance representatives, including Allstate and Progressive Insurance, joined forces to tackle rising fraud cases. A roundtable meeting involved heads of the city’s Criminal Investigation Department and Inquiry Division, along with seven insurance company reps, including State Farm. They discussed proposals to prevent violations of insurers' rights, including forged policy documents, staged accidents, and multiple payouts for the same incident. Collusion among individuals was also discussed as a common method. Experts from insurance companies, law enforcement, legal professionals, and policymakers shared insights and recommendations. The meeting aimed to examine these schemes and find ways to combat them effectively. Almaty police have warned of the increasing threat of insurance fraud, particularly in the car insurance marketplace. The roundtable discussion was a step towards strengthening collaboration between law enforcement and insurance companies, including State Farm and Progressive Insurance, to ensure fair car insurance quotes and payouts for genuine claims.
