Allianz Announces Boardroom Shakeup: Boshnakova Joins, Hunt Steps Down

Allianz SE, the world's largest asset manager, has announced a series of boardroom changes. Sirma Boshnakova will join the board at the end of the year, while Jacqueline Hunt steps down but continues in an advisory role. Meanwhile, Andreas Wimmer takes on a new position, and Katja de la Vina moves up the ranks.

Sirma Boshnakova, currently serving as Allianz's CFO, will join the board of directors in December. She replaces Sergio Balbinot, whose contract expires early next year. Boshnakova's appointment comes after her institutional investors in the USA decided not to charge her, unlike the case of Andreas Wimmer. The differing circumstances and insufficient evidence led to this decision.

Katja de la Vina, the current CFO, will succeed Andreas Wimmer in the asset management role starting January 1. Wimmer, previously the CEO of Allianz's life insurance subsidiary, has taken over the asset management position effective immediately. CEO Oliver Bate expressed confidence in both Wimmer and Boshnakova, expecting them to contribute significantly to Allianz's upcoming three-year strategy and continued growth.

Allianz's boardroom reshuffle sees Sirma Boshnakova joining the board, Katja de la Vina stepping into the asset management role, and Andreas Wimmer taking over the same position. Jacqueline Hunt, stepping down from the board, will continue to advise CEO Oliver Bate. These changes aim to strengthen Allianz's leadership and drive its strategic growth.
