Aldi's Second Seligenstadt Supermarket to Open in Autumn 2024
A new Aldi supermarket is set to open in Seligenstadt, marking the brand's second location in the town. The store will occupy a renovated and expanded building on Steinheimer StraĆe, directly opposite the existing Aldi branch. Planning and construction are already in motion, with work expected to restart in November 2023.
The project involves renovating and extending the former EDEKA building by around 300 square metres. RD Invest, based in Aschaffenburg, is overseeing the work. Alongside the supermarket, a local bakery will also take up space in the same building.
Recruitment for the new Aldi store has begun, with job listings available on the company's careers page at www.tegut.com/careers. The supermarket chain, which currently operates between 280 and 290 stores across Germany, is expanding through franchise partnerships. Most of its locations are in Hessen, Thüringen, Bayern, Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz, and Baden-Württemberg.
The grand opening of the Seligenstadt branch is planned for autumn 2024.
Once completed, the new supermarket will increase Aldi's presence in the region. The expanded building will house both the store and a bakery, adding to local shopping options. Construction is scheduled to resume in November, with hiring already underway.
