airBaltic adds EUR 40 million to bond issue
Latvian airline airBaltic has expanded its bond issuance to strengthen its financial position. The company recently priced an extra €40 million in secured bonds, bringing the total to €380 million. This move supports its growth plans and prepares for a potential initial public offering (IPO).
In May 2025, airBaltic issued a €340 million bond through a private placement arranged by JP Asset Management (JPAM). The bond carried a 14.50% interest rate and had a term of five years and three months.
Now, the airline has added another €40 million to the same bond issue, maintaining the 14.50% interest rate. These new bonds will mature in 2029, with a settlement date set for October 24, 2024. They will also be listed on Euronext Dublin. The funds raised will boost airBaltic’s liquidity and help fund its strategic projects. The airline aims to improve its financial flexibility, making it better equipped to handle economic and industry-specific challenges.
The expanded bond issuance brings airBaltic’s total to €380 million. The proceeds will support its financial stability and long-term growth objectives. The bonds, listed on Euronext Dublin, will mature in 2029 with a fixed interest rate of 14.50%.
