Aigües in Alicante Tops Spain's Wealthiest Municipalities List

The Valencian Community has witnessed a rise in incomes, with Alicante's average gross income reaching €30,218. Notably, Aigües in Alicante has emerged as Spain's wealthiest municipality, with an average gross income of €60,883, nearly doubling in the last year.

Venta del Moro in Valencia stands as Spain's least affluent municipality, with an average gross income of €17,861. Other cities in the region also show varying average incomes. Elche's average gross income is €25,208, while Torrevieja, despite its significant population, has one of the lowest incomes at €22,106. Castellón de La Plana's average gross income is €30,269, and Valencia's is €34,355. The Basque Country and Navarre are excluded from the report due to their unique fiscal systems.

The Valencian Community has seen a general increase in incomes, with Aigües leading as Spain's wealthiest municipality. However, income disparities persist, as seen in Venta del Moro and Torrevieja. Further analysis is needed to understand the factors driving these income variations.
