AIG secures Aviva Stadium sponsorship in €150K-per-month deal until 2030

AIG has inked a new sponsorship deal for the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, stretching until 2030. The agreement, worth around €150,000 monthly, sees the stadium's name remain unchanged despite Aviva's sponsorship ending. The first match under this new deal will be a FIFA World Cup qualifier between Republic of Ireland and Portugal on Thursday.

The Aviva Stadium, with a capacity of 51,000, has been a hub of activity since its opening in 2009. Over its 15-year lifespan, it has welcomed 11.5 million visitors and hosted over 350 events. While the new deal is more lucrative than Cardiff's Principality Stadium's current worth, it falls short of Twickenham's sponsorship value in London. Ireland's rugby team will face Australia at the stadium this Saturday, marking another significant event in its calendar.

The capital's major rugby team, Leinster, has occasionally played games at Croke Park GAA ground due to the Aviva Stadium's size. However, the stadium remains a vital venue for the team and rugby enthusiasts alike.

The new AIG sponsorship deal secures the Aviva Stadium's future until 2030, ensuring it continues to host major sporting news and attract large crowds. The increased value from the previous agreement reflects the stadium's significance in Irish sport and its appeal to sponsors.
