Advent wreath catches fire and severely damages apartment in Mühlheim

A fire broke out in an apartment building on Lessingstraße in Mühlheim am Main on Monday morning. The blaze caused severe damage to a second-floor flat, though all residents escaped safely.

The fire started around 10 a.m. in a second-floor apartment. Investigators believe an Advent wreath may have triggered the flames. Firefighters arrived quickly and stopped the fire from spreading to neighbouring units.

Criminal police are now examining the exact cause of the incident. The affected apartment suffered extensive damage, with estimated losses exceeding €100,000. Authorities have declared the flat uninhabitable for the time being. Witnesses with any relevant information are urged to contact police at +49 69 8098-1234.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The investigation into the fire’s origin remains ongoing. The apartment will require significant repairs before residents can return.
