A66 motorway chaos as trailer spills debris, damaging 23 vehicles

A serious incident on the A66 motorway near the Neuhof tunnel caused damage to multiple vehicles on 4 March 2025. Around 6:30 p.m., a car towing a trailer lost its load, scattering stones and a pallet across the road. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.

The accident unfolded when a vehicle pulling a trailer dropped stones and a wooden pallet onto the motorway. At least one car drove over the debris, suffering immediate damage. In total, 23 vehicles were affected by the fallen objects.

The driver of the towing car briefly halted but then left without sharing any contact details. Police have since urged anyone who saw the incident to get in touch. Witnesses can contact Petersberg motorway police station directly or submit a report online. Investigations into the cause of the load loss are ongoing. Authorities are particularly keen to identify the driver responsible for the abandoned debris.
