85-Year-Old Dies After Head-On Collision - 85-Year-Old Driver Dies in L3044 Head-On Collision
An 85-year-old driver has died following a head-on collision on the L3044 between Driedorf and the B255. The road is currently closed in both directions while investigations continue.
The accident occurred when the 85-year-old driver veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with another car. The other driver, a 63-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The elderly driver sustained severe injuries and sadly died at the scene.
Investigators are now reconstructing the accident with the help of an expert to determine the cause of the elderly driver leaving his lane. The investigation is being led by the Police Presidium Middle Hesse (Polizeipräsidium Mittelhessen).
The L3044 remains closed while investigations continue. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
