A 64-year-old man is under investigation for allegedly starting a fire in a garage on Jahn Street in Pfungstadt. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, causing significant material damage but no injuries.

The fire brigade and police were deployed to tackle the blaze, which had already engulfed the garage and its contents by the time they arrived. Two adjacent garages were also affected. The fire was quickly brought under control, with no reports of injuries.

Investigations led to the temporary detention of a 64-year-old suspect found near the garage. Authorities believe an ignited object in the vicinity of the contents started the fire. The man's mental state led to his transfer to a psychiatric facility for evaluation.
