136 Schools Honored for Exceptional Commitment to Sustainability Education
A record 136 schools have been recognised for their outstanding commitment to education for sustainable development (ESD). The awarded institutions have successfully integrated environmental education into daily school life, fostering future competencies in students.
The schools' projects encourage students to question and explore topics like nutrition, global entry, and fair coexistence. They promote practical, community-oriented action, making sustainability tangible for young minds.
At an exhibition during the awards event in Hanau, students presented their successes and experiences. State Secretary Michael Ruhl commended the schools' efforts in making global challenges understandable and practical. His colleague, State Secretary Dr. Manuel LoΜsel, also expressed gratitude for their exceptional commitment.
This year's awards highlight the growing importance of ESD in schools. With 136 recipients, it's clear that many educators are dedicated to preparing students for a sustainable future.
